I received a commission from a band that wanted live-show assets and a lyric video for one of their singles. The band gave me full creative control, aside from wanting feedback on some text. Here you will find my drafts, thoughts, and experiments catalogued from the experience.
Feedback: Video feedback loops are easy to achieve. I captured footage of a CRT screen with an RCA Titlemaker overlaid through a capture card. This signal flow allows me to not only get the CRT screen effect, but also eliminate having to set up a camera on a tripod. I ran a live feed to my CRT wall with the band name overlaid on the feed. The benefit of multiple CRTs is being able to experiment with different picture qualities. Tube types, brand quirks, and general wear and tear alter the picture projection, giving a feedback loop different aesthetics. Here is a video with some quick looks at the process.
